Tap the ‘Profile’ tab from the navigation bar. If the notification for the tagged post has gotten lost in the sea of notifications, you don’t have to go fishing for it. Then, tap the notification for the tagged post. Open the Instagram app on your phone and go to the ‘Activity’ tab from the navigation bar at the bottom to see your notifications. If you don’t like the post, you can hide it then and there. Whenever someone tags you in their post on Instagram, you get a notification. Whatever your reasons might be for wanting to hide a tagged post, the crux of the matter is that the task at hand is extremely easy. Other times, it’s random strangers tagging you on their photos, even selfies – seriously, why do they do that? And on other occasions, it’s a scam account. Sometimes a friend or family member posts a photo you didn’t want the world to see. Anyone stalking your profile can easily see all the posts you’ve been tagged in. To review your pending tags, go to “Settings”, tap on “Privacy”, Select “Posts”, tap to expand the “Manually Approve Tags” and then select “Pending tags”.Even though tagged posts on Instagram aren’t like Facebook, i.e., none of your followers will see the tagged post in question on their feed unless they follow the original poster, they aren’t completely harmless either. To show every notification would run a wild amount of data on users’ phones. It is impossible because there is a cap of 80 notifications. It should be noted that if you do set your tags to be manually approved, you will not see every notification. If you do happen to follow a lot of accounts, it will be easier to control what tagged photos appear on your profile by using the second method of manually approving tags. Strangers attempting to build their follower count will likely try to get your attention so that you follow their account in the hopes that you allow tags from “people you follow”. Instead, when someone tries to tag your account in a photo or video, they will see an alert telling them that you “do not allow tags from everyone”. In the next menu, toggle on “Manually approve tags” by tapping on the toggle button. It gives you a chance to preview a post that you are tagged in, then you can decide if you want it to show on your profile, or you can remove the tag from the photo. This method is handy if you have family members or annoying friends sharing embarrassing close-ups that you are not quite ready for your followers to see. Use this method if you would rather give nobody the ability to post to your profile. Method 2: Manually approve photos that tag your account If you set it to “No One”, you can adjust your tagging settings to let you see the posts you are tagged in, then decide if you want to approve the post or not. Step 2: Tap the three lines icon (hamburger menu) on the upper right The profile icon is the one with your picture on the bottom right of your screen.
